This Christmas probably has more meaning to me then any Christmas that I have experienced since my birth.
I woke up this morning like normal, got up, went to the gym at my normal time. Not too many people there this morning, either they decided to sleep in on this Christmas Eve or they are just taking the day off. Anyway, as I was going through my work out, I was listening to some “real” Christmas music by the Gaither Vocal Band and normally as my work out goes I exhaust myself but today was different.
Today, as I was listening to some of the great songs that they have, I felt myself getting stronger and more full of energy. I probably could have worked out all day with the energy that was surging through my body.
As I was listening to the music, my mind went to the reason why we are celebrating this great holiday.
It is to commemorate the greatest Christmas gift that was EVER given.
Our Salvation!
“For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
He sent His Son down to this earth in order for us to have “everlasting life”, if we only chose to accept this gift from God.
Tracy and I do foster care. And we have had to go through a pretty thorough training program in order to be able to take care of these blessings that come into our lives.
And the part of the training that sticks out to me the most is that when these children come into our homes, they have a WANT to return to the place where they came from. They have schools, friends, family members that they have had in their lives up to that point and even though they are in a safer environment, they still have a inner “pull” back to that life that they were taken from.
I don’t know about you, but I know that I have had an inner “pull” all of my life, wondering about what this life is all about. What is going to happen when I die?
I think we all have these sort of questions.
I can only assume, if we have them now, then every human born from the beginning of time has had the same questions.
But not to leave us there, God had the answer and He sent Him down to earth in the form of a baby. A baby that would grow up to be the perfect example of the life that He wants us to live.
And not only that but knowing that we could never live up to this level of perfection, He sacrificed the only perfect human being to die for our sins and if we accept this perfect gift of sacrifice, He has given us the gift of eternal life in paradise.
And all we have to do is call out His name, accept the fact that we are not perfect, and turn to Him and obey His word!!
This is THE answer to that inner “pull” that we have.
If you will notice, it is a “pull” not a “push”. All we have to do is let go of this world and let the pull take us to the world described by Jesus on the cross when the thief accepted Him as “paradise”.
I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas!!
And even more then that, I hope that you accept the greatest gift ever given to man kind, Jesus Christ.
As Always, Here’s to Your LifetoSuccess,
God Bless You and Merry Christmas,
John Clark
