And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13
I hope you are enjoying this series on the subject of LOVE. Inspired by my pastor this past Sunday, I thought I would address this great series of Bible verses. If you are just getting to this, please make sure to check out the previous post:

Let’s continue with 1 Corinthians 13 Verse 4:
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
When do you give up the love for your children? What if they constantly get into trouble? What if they drive you crazy?
I don’t know about you but I will never stop loving my children no matter how much they torture me. No matter how crazy they make me.
“Love suffers long…” When we truly love others, we will love these people for as long as it takes. Forever if we have too.
“Love is Kind” The definition of “kind” is having or showing a friendly, generous or considerate nature. WOW!!! How would our world change if we started treating others with that type of nature.
“Love does not envy” Think about the last time something good happened to someone else… where did your thoughts go for that person. Were you genuinely happy for them or did you kind of think to yourself, “I wish that happened to me.” Were you envious?
When you are operating out of genuine love, you do not envy what others have. You are grateful for what you have, while loving when great things happen to others.
“love does not parade itself, is not puffed up” Love is not boastful or proud. Love comes from the heart. To love someone or something to gain favor is not true love. When you parade your love to show how great you are, this is not love at all. And it is very one sided. And will always be uncovered.
This is a great verse.
I hope you are enjoying this series.
I am an amateur when it comes to the Bible and as someone who is just starting to truly study the word of God, writing about it in this blog helps me reinforce what I am learning.
