The Power of… I AM…

And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?

And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. Exodus 3:13-14

The power of I AM. Think of all the times that we use the words, I AM…

God told Moses when He sent him to the children of Israel, to tell them that “I AM hath sent me unto you.”

“I AM” meaning ME… God had sent Moses to free them from the bondage of slavery.

Think of all the times that you may use the words “I AM”

I am fat…

I am poor…

I am useless…

I am not worthy…

When we use the words “I AM”, we are referring to God. And one of His commandments was not the use God’s name in vain, which means to use His name in a negative connotation.

Are the statements above positive or negative? The are negative and would basically be considered using the Lord’s name in vain.

But when we reframe how we use His name in a different manner, it changes everything…

I AM… healthy and full of energy!

I AM… constantly looking for ways to increase my skills to help more people!

I AM… a father who is constantly looking for ways to make my children productive members of society!

I AM… worthy of what God sees fit to provide for me with, based on my efforts!

I AM… a sinner who needs God’s help to strive to live as His Son, Jesus Christ has set the example to live.

When we focus the power of “I AM” and constantly strive everyday to live to those positive statements, we are moving forward.

But when we live our lives using “I AM” to tear ourselves down, we are living a life that is beyond sinful. We are using God’s name in vain which is a violation of one of the ten commandments.

I am blessed. This is inspiring, more to speak, has a spiritual touch. I have been reading your articles for many years now, which really helps me and improves me mentally and emotionally. Yet I found out just these days that there’s more that touched the spirit.
I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ, but there are struggling times. I am a mother of four young kids so I am a busy homemaker. But I keep on focusing on Christ no matter what. And your articles are one of my supports.
