What are You Doing with What You Already Have?

I heard Jim Rohn say that we should be thankful for what we have while in pursuit of what we want.

I always thought this was sound advise.

To me, I find amazing that most of us will put off being happy or grateful for what we have until some future event happens.

This is sad and a huge waste of time.

Some may think to themselves…

“When I make more money, I will really focus on my finances.”

“I will really get going at work when I get that promotion.”

Here are the facts:

1. There are 24 hours in a day, 7 days a week and 365 days in a year. And we ALL have access to this time.

2. What we do with this time will determine the results that we get.

When it comes to making the most of what we have, we need to be faithful when the amounts are small.

This means that we need to have a solid financial plan whether we are making $5000 a year or $5,000,000 a year.

Chances are that if you don’t treat the smaller amounts with respect, you will never get to the larger amounts.

So what does this mean?

Have a process in place for every area in your life, no matter where you are in the important areas in your life.

Let’s take a look at the financial example for a second…

If you start a plan that you will distribute, your money this way:

10% to God (Tithe)

10% to retirement

10% to investments

At $5000 a year, you will be distribute $50 to each of these areas. As your income increases so does the amount to each of the areas above.

It is the discipline that counts when it comes to being faithful to the smaller amounts.

So the question remains…

What are You Doing with What You Already Have?

As Always, Here’s to Your LifetoSuccess,

God Bless You,

John Clark
