When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going…

It’s interesting, that statement has been around for a long time.

It is a quote attributed to Joseph Kennedy and it is also said to be an old Scottish proverb. It is also a song that Billy Ocean sang in the 80’s or early 90’s.

Yesterday, I wrote a post about the problems that we face in our lives and how it is quite possible that we are the primary culprit to these problems based on our thinking habits and our activity habits.

As it is extremely important to make sure that we face these problems head on, we must also put ourselves in a position to learn from these challenges so that we get ourselves out of this self perpetuating cycle that is based on our habits.

When we start to take forward movement with the solutions to the problems, the end of the problem moves towards us. The faster and more aggressive action we take, the faster the solution presents itself.

But it is our responsibility to do the moving.

It is said that the definition of insanity is… “to do the same thing over and over again, while expecting a different result.”

Because most of the problems we face are based on our thinking and actions, it is vitally important to make sure that we start thinking differently and doing different things. If we do not the solution will never present itself.

I find this Biblical verse quite insightful:

“Draw nigh to God, and He will nigh to you.”

The verse says that we need to make the first move. And not only do we need to make the first move but a move in a completely different direction.

If we continue to take the same actions and think the same thoughts, we will continue to get the same results.

And as my late mentor, Jim Rohn, said “RESULTS is the name of the game.”

Are you getting the results that you are looking for?

If not, maybe it is time to start making some changes in the thinking and activities that are creating the results that you are currently getting.

As Always, Here’s to Your LifetoSuccess,

God Bless You,

John Clark
