When you think about your success, do your thoughts go inward towards what you have to do or do they go out to others and what you feel they should have to do in order to make you successful and happy?<\/p>\n
When you look at your success and then you look at what you have to do in order to get there, you have taken personal responsibility for your success.<\/p>\n
But if you look outside of yourself and blame others for you lack of success, you are giving up your personal power to people outside of you.<\/p>\n
I have been following the story of ACORN in the US lately and I find it very interesting the language being used by those who are behind ACORN and their employees actions.<\/p>\n
Here are some of the comments I have heard:<\/p>\n
…racism<\/p>\n
…witch hunt<\/p>\n
…what about Blackwater?<\/p>\n
…just holding the minorities back<\/p>\n
…entrapment<\/p>\n
Not one of the comments has taken responsibility for what has occurred by their representatives. And don’t make this mistake, those employees did represent the ACORN organization. They fell right into the scenario as easily as a McDonald’s employee does when they ask, “Do you want fries with that?”<\/p>\n
This shows that these ACORN workers have had great training, fortunately they got caught on tape.<\/p>\n
This is no different then the shows they have on NBC, to catch a predator. They have people caught in the act of doing what they naturally do.<\/p>\n
But I have yet to hear anyone accept personal responsibility for their actions.<\/p>\n
If you seek success, you must be willing to accept personal responsibility for all your actions… good or bad!<\/p>\n
Without trying to pin the blame on anyone else.<\/p>\n
