I don’t know about you but there is nothing better then a GREAT road trip. I have had plenty most of them very good.<\/p>\n
Not only that but I have been blessed with a wonderful partner that likes to drive so I just sit in the passenger seat and enjoy the ride.<\/p>\n
The pastor in my church has been doing a great series called Road Trip: The Road We Take. I am going to do my best to highlight the living a successful life no matter what your religion or lack there of is.<\/p>\n
Here are a couple of points to start with:<\/p>\n
1. No matter where you are going you have to start RIGHT where you are at<\/em><\/strong> – It would be nice to be able to start at a point closer to where we want to be but the reality is, we have to start right where we are at.<\/p>\n Things will not get better in our lives unless we are willing to start on the journey right here, right now. A lot of us tend to put off making the first step until something in the future happens.<\/p>\n We won’t start working on bettering our financial situation until we get start making more money.<\/p>\n We won’t start working on our new fitness goals until the beginning of the new year.<\/p>\n What do we call all that time between starting on the path to better financial and physical health? Wasted time!<\/p>\n 2. We need to be honest with where we are<\/em><\/strong> – If we are struggling with our weight or our finances, we need to be brutally honest with where we are. It doesn’t do us any favors to candy coat it.<\/p>\n For some reason we find it very easy to be able to judge where others are but we can’t turn that mirror on ourselves.<\/p>\n By denying where we are or putting off looking honestly at where we are, we are wasting more time that we could be making improvements in our lives.<\/p>\n 3. We need to get on the RIGHT road heading in the RIGHT direction<\/em><\/strong> – It is the RIGHT road heading in the RIGHT direction that makes all the difference. If we are on the wrong road or heading in the wrong direction, we will never make it to our destination no matter how hard we try.<\/p>\n The road and the direction we are heading, NOT intention, determines our destination.<\/p>\n 4. If we are not moving forward, we are moving backwards<\/em><\/strong> – \u00a0If we are standing still, we are moving backwards. Why would I make that statement?<\/p>\n Time is a perishable commodity, once it is past us, we are never getting it back.
