I often hear a lot of people say that there is no time to get everything they want done. And I am often asked how to get over this issue.<\/p>\n
Now when I observe some people I see a lot of wasted time. And I often get push back when I bring this to their attention.<\/p>\n
But this is the all important question that I ask them…<\/p>\n
Is that activity that you just spent one hour doing moving towards your goal or objective?<\/p>\n
Most of the time the answer is… no!<\/p>\n
Then they start in with excuses like…<\/p>\n
Well you can’t be working all the time?<\/p>\n
or<\/p>\n
You need to take a break every now and again.<\/p>\n
or<\/p>\n
You need to do something for yourself.<\/p>\n
And the list goes on and on. But this is all coming from someone who claims that there isn’t enough time.<\/p>\n
The key to getting this down is by first making a decision about what you want to accomplish. Once you make that decision your activities should come in line with that desire.<\/p>\n
So to get back to the question in the title of this blog…<\/p>\n
How do you know if you are making the best use of your time?<\/strong><\/p>\n The answer is quite simple. If you are moving towards your major goal or objective you are making the best use of your time.<\/p>\n If you are not moving towards your major goal or objective then you are making poor use of your time.<\/p>\n Now you may say to yourself, “But John, I have a family.”<\/p>\n So do I.
