That is useful whether you are starting a business or improving an existing one.<\/p>\n<h2>Why write a business plan beyond seeking funding?<\/h2>\n<p>A plan helps you identify priorities, examine assumptions, and see where more research is needed. It can make a conversation with a partner or lender clearer, but it is also valuable for your own management.<\/p>\n<p>Writing the plan may reveal that an idea needs to change. Finding a weak assumption early can be more useful than producing an optimistic document.<\/p>\n<h2>Questions your plan should answer<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Who is the customer, and what need are you addressing?<\/li>\n<li>What will you provide, and how will you deliver it?<\/li>\n<li>Who is responsible for the work?<\/li>\n<li>What resources and costs are involved?<\/li>\n<li>What evidence supports expected sales?<\/li>\n<li>What would make you revise the approach?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Use the plan to guide a next step<\/h2>\n<p>Choose one important uncertainty and decide how to investigate it. A customer conversation, supplier quote, or small pilot can provide better information than another unsupported forecast.<\/p>\n<p>A plan does not ensure profit or remove risk.
