3 Keys to Maintain Forward Momentum and Motivation During Trying Times

With the unemployment numbers going crazy and the bleak financial news, we see on a daily basis, it is often hard to find ways to keep your positive and motivated during these very trying times.

You ability to find ways to keep yourself motivated and consistently doing the actions that will bring about your desire is called for now more then ever.

Here are 3 ideas that can help you get through the trying times:

1. Keep your desires foremost in your mind.

Don’t let your dreams die. Continue to focus on them on a daily basis.

This is very hard to do but very worth while as well. When your efforts seem to be slowed down because of outside circumstances, it is very easy to give up on your dreams. BUT this is where it is even more important to keep yourself focused and on purpose.

Keep your dream in front of your face everyday especially first thing in the morning and right before you go to bed at night.

2. Take action towards your desire everyday

It is very easy to get off track if you are not taking consistant action, DAILY, towards what you desire. Do something towards your desire, no matter how small it may be. This will keep you looking forward while maintaing your momentum.

An example, for me, is going to the gym. If I don’t do it on a daily basis, it won’t be long before I am not going at all.

3. Get together with like minded people

With the social media boom, we have going on now it is very easy to find a group of like minded people. Here are a few of the more popular social media places to start finding like minded people.

1. Facebook – http://www.facebook.com

2. Meetup – http://www.meetup.com

3. Twitter – http://www.twitter.com

Simply sign up at the site and start by searching the subject you interested in. The next thing you know you have a list of people who are interested in the same subject that you are.

Now is NOT the time to bury your head in the sand.

This economy and jobless trend will change as it always does. If you maintain concentration on your desire and continue to take action towards it when the upturn happens you will be on a forward momentun, that will propel you forward beyond your wildest dreams.

Thank you John. Your words help but I still find it difficult to keep my hopes up after so many failed attempts. I'm giving it my all and it seems that it's not good enough. It's hard to keep trying when the outcomes of your work depend, not on the effort One puts forward, but on the circumstances that are beyond control. I will keep trying. I don't intend to give up. It's just hard not to fall in the cycle of rejection and feeling like a failure.

Thank you again. Your words were the extra push that urged me to keep trying.
