Life is a journey, it is filled with ups and downs.
Some times are good and some times are bad, it is just the way it is.
What do you do when times are not that pleasant?
The answer to that, I believe, will in some way determine how long we spend in that valley of despair.
If we spend our time worrying about what is happening. Or we spend our time mulling it over and telling everyone who will listens about our woes, I believe that we will be destined to spend a little longer in that unpleasant situation.
But…
If we spend our time:
1. Being Grateful – Even when things are bad, there is plenty for us to be thankful for. We need to turn our attention to the things that we are blessed with. By doing this, it will immediately start to change our frame of mind and start us on the path to better times.
2. Start to focus on the solutions to the troubling situation – Most of the time, we spend far too long focusing on the problem where we should be focusing on the solutions to these problems. When we turn our mind to action that we can take to get us out of these bad situations, the faster we will be getting out of it.
3. Help others – When we start to help others solve their problems, our mind again becomes solution oriented and it may help us uncover some solutions to the challenges that we face.
Keep in mind that we have faced problems before in our life and they don’t last forever.
God has promised us that He will never put a situation into our lives that we are not capable of handling.
Our job is to focus on the thinking and the actions that have caused us to get into the problem to begin with.
When we examine our problems, most of the time, we will find that it is our actions and thoughts that have gotten us into the mess to begin with.
If you experience, reoccurring problems in your life, it is because of a habitual thinking pattern or habitual action that you do on a consistent basis.
When we start to focus on solutions, we get ourselves out of the problems but as soon as that thinking and action pattern takes over again, we find ourselves right back in the problem.
The key here is to isolate those habits and break the pattern.
When these patterns repeat themselves, we will often find ourselves, saying something like, “Why does this always happen to me?”
Those are the moments when we need to find the thinking and action patterns, when we can isolate this thinking and action, we can work on “new” thinking and “new” actions, that will keep us out of these problem situations.
