Well 2011 has come to a close.
For me personally, I thought it was a good year. I reached some professional and personal goals that were evading me for a while.
I strengthened key relationships in my life, not that I was struggling in that area but I wanted to start building a more solid base in my life with the people close in my life because I feel that some things that were happening in 2011 are going to get worse before things get better and if we are going to get through it, we need to build strong local relationships, so that we will be able to lean on them and they on us.
As we enter 2012, there are still some things that we need to make sure that we prepare for. There is still great unrest out there in the financial markets and our governmental institutions. If things go wrong, we will need to be looking after each other. And if we don’t look after each other, we will be enslaved by the government institutions that do and this is not a good situation.
Here are a few things to consider while sitting down to do your goals for 2012:
1. We need God’s help.
There are no human solutions to the problems that we face. Our natural tendencies are flawed right from birth. We have a natural tendency to think only of ourselves first. We are fearful by nature. For me personally, I am a Christian. I have accepted Jesus Christ into my life as my personal savior. I study His life and I try to emulate the example that He has provided me to live by.
I fall far short of this, but I try everyday to get better in focusing on trying to make the lives of those around me better.
This is what God did by sending Jesus down to this earth for us.
When we start to focus on helping those around us, the need for over reaching governments, go away because when we help those around us, there is no need for the government to do this.
Be design, God has made this a personal choice for everyone that was born. Some will accept it, some won’t. Some people will live their lives only by believing what they see with their eyes. Some will live their lives by studying the Word of God, and making the decision to live by the principles that are in the book and have faith that when they allow Jesus into their lives will be transformed and will become a source of strength for others.
2. Seek advise from those who have gone before you with similar goals.
Pride is a huge dream killer. When we hold ourselves back because we are fearful to ask for help, we will always fall short of the goals we set.
There are so many great resources available online, in bookstores, recorded on CD’s, DVD’s and MP3’s with information that can unlock the doors to our dreams. All we need to do is seek out that information and then put that information into ACTION!!!
Fitness, Financial, Career, Business, Spiritual…. There is actionable information in any of these areas that will change your life.
3. ACTION!! ACTION!! ACTION!!
The only way that we will make lasting change in our lives is by changing the actions that we do day in and day out.
If we continue to do the same things, we will continue to get the same results. There is no way around this.
We must do different things with our thoughts and actions in order to make change happen in our lives.
4. Strengthen the relationships in your life.
This is a key component and I believe that it is going to make all the difference in the near future. I believe it will make the difference between slavery and freedom.
If we do not build strong local communities, the United States of America will cease to be a free country.
When we can lean on those around us and we allow them to lean on us, we can build each other up without government intervention. But if we are weak in this area, we will allow the government to become too big and we will end up becoming slaves to this government.
I know this message is a little gloomy but we need to make sure that we strengthen:
1. Ourselves – By asking for God’s help in our lives and asking Him to work in our lives to become valuable to those around us.
2. Families – When we start to become the good example, our children will start to emulate us and become stronger and this cycle will continue.
3. Our Communities – When we make our families stronger, our communities become stronger.
I wish you and your family nothing but the best for 2012 and look forward to hearing about the great successes to come.
As Always, Here’s to Your LifetoSuccess,
God Bless You,
John Clark
