Is Living a Successful Life Exciting? (Part 3)

Is living a successful life exciting? How about our relationships?

How about getting up at 3 AM with a sick child when you know you have to get up for work in 2 hours?

How about dealing with an unhappy customer in your business?

How about finding out your business partner was stealing money from your company?

Your relationships is key to living a successful life.

But your relationships are not always exciting.

What is exciting about your relationships, if dealt with properly, are the life long productive relationships with the key people in your life.

Here are some tips to consider when dealing with other people:

1. You don’t always have to be right, even if you know you are right. Most people have this need to always be right.

Knowing that I have used this phrase that I got from Brian Tracy and it goes like this, “I may be wrong, I often am.”

This stops the possibility of arguments off at the onset of one. I can’t tell the number of times that the person has come back to me after and apologized and said that I was right. Not that I was looking for that, but it made the relationship with that person a little stronger by avoiding that argument.

2. Don’t rely on others to make you happy. This is a biggie. If you are counting on others to make you happy, you will spend most of your life, not happy.

People generally want to be around people who are happy. If you are waiting for others to make you happy, you will be very lonely and disappointed.

This does not mean that you have to become an island to yourself, because we need others to be productive. We need others to serve. (This is where our reward comes from, service.)

3. Don’t Judge. This will be the hardest thing to do. I want you to think about this for a minute. Everyone that comes into your life is there for a reason, whether you see it or not.

At the end of your life, all will you have is the memories of how you spent you days on this earth. Are those memories going to positive or negative?

The answer to that question is going to be determined by how you judge those who come into your life. If you judge them from a superiority stance, it will be negative.

But if you look at them from a compassionate and service stand point, it will be very positive.

As always, Here’s to Your LifetoSuccess,
