Key to Staying Motivated: The Patterns in our Life Hold the Key to our Success

As usual, I was up this morning to be at the gym at 4:30 AM but today I was up a little earlier than usual. I normally get up at 3:55 AM but today for some reason I was up around 3 AM. I used that opportunity to catch up on a little email and the news. For the first time in a while I remembered everything I needed for the gym which was nice. Getting up a little earlier gives the luxury of checking and double checking.

I noticed this morning that there seemed to be a few more people than normal in the gym and I wondered why. Some people I recognized but there was about 5 to 10 people that I never seen before. They seemed pretty familiar with the gym so I’m sure that they have been members for a while. But I started to wonder why they were there today of all days, all on the same day.

And I came to the conclusion that they must have the go to the gym in the beginning of September after Labor day pattern. Summer is over, vacation time is over, kid’s are going back to school… time to get back to the gym again. Or maybe they have been going all along but they have to go earlier because the kids are going back to school.

Who knows for sure… I will find out in a few weeks as I notice who will be there and who won’t as their pattern plays out for them.

We all have patterns in our life. And these patterns determine our level of success and failure.

These patterns are habitual in our life and some of these patterns help us continue to succeed while some of these patterns hold us back and have us in failure mode.

These patterns are all based on our habitual way of thinking and acting. These thought patterns are followed by actions that create the results in our lives both good and bad.

When a bad pattern keeps happening in our lives, it is important to make sure to start to pay attention to the habitual thoughts that are going on in our heads when it comes to this pattern.

It will generally be proceeded by good things happening in that area. You will feel good about how things are going in that area but then something will happen that will frustrate us or that will set us back in that area.

The one thing that will change before these bad things that happen is a habitual thought that you have about this area which will lead to a different habitual action that will cause the back slide in this area.

It is a frustrating phenomenon but one that can be over come if you are paying attention to the habitual thoughts that you have concerning this area of your life that continues to frustrate you.

If you haven’t had a chance to check out Lee Milteer’s Habit Busting System and you are finding some areas of frustration this may be they key to help you get over that hump. Check it out!
