Key to Staying Motivated: What to do when you are not seeing results…

So here is the scenario…

You have been working on your goal and you have gotten some results but you seem to have stalled and you don’t know what you are doing wrong. This is a very frustrating situation and a situation that may cause you to give up if you don’t know what to do.

In most cases, if you are going after something that you have not accomplished before, you will run into some roadblocks. This is normal and natural. I think this is also by design because it tests your persistence to see if you REALLY want what you are after.

This is not the time to get frustrated, this is the time to start thinking…

Here are a few actions ideas to consider when you hit the plateau…

1. Don’t get frustrated… RELAX! – This is the time to take a half step back and review what you are doing. Remember going for something that is just out of your reach requires growth from where you are to where you want to be. Take a LITTLE time and review and refine your goal, make it a little clearer in your mind. This may be enough to get you back on track. If not…

2. Try something radically different then what you are doing – I know when you are doing weight training and you have reached a point where you are not seeing gains, they suggest that you try lifting beyond your current ability or you lift well below your current ability. My guess is it kind of works like a defibrillator, it is a shock to the system and gets jumped started again. This may also work for you goal.

3. Seek advice from someone who has gone before you – We all have a tendency to be prideful and we want to go it alone, be our own person but there are times when we just need to reach out to someone for help. We can do this in many ways but there are books written and audio programs as well as coaching programs that are available to help us get over the curb.

Where are you right now with regards to your goal? Are you stalled?

This may be just the time to jump start yourself again and get moving towards your goal.

As Always, Here’s to Your LifetoSuccess,
