I believe it is very important to STAY motivated.
When you let a day go bye that you do not move towards one of your major goals, you have simply wasted one of the most precious resources that you have and that is your time. Make sure to check out this post – http://www.lifetosuccess.com/2010/06/19/time-is-more-valuable-than-money/
We have a very limited amount of time and if we are not making the most of that time, we are simply squandering a very precious resource.
Here are a few ideas to consider about staying motivated:
1. We need a clear vision for our life – If the vision we have for our life is weak, we will end up living a weak life. You may be saying, “John, what do you mean by weak vision?” Well if yo do not have a clear vision of what you want your life to be like in EVERY detail, from when you wake up until when you go to bed everyday, you will find that you are wasting a lot of time.
Now you may be saying, “Hold on, hold on. You need to have some flexibility in your life.” And I agree with that but you need to work that into your schedule instead of working your schedule around your flexibility.
2. Our Actions must be congruent with the clear vision of our life – If part of your vision is to live a healthy life, going to McDonald’s for lunch everyday and eating a Big Mac is NOT congruent with that vision.
If saving enough money to retire in style is the vision you have for your life, but you spend everything you make plus a little more on credit, this is not congruent with your vision.
We need to engage in the activity that is inline with the vision that we have for ourselves.
3. We need to push ourselves out of our comfort zones – In order to grow, we need to push ourselves out of our comfort zones. When we push ourselves out of our comfort zones, we have now expanded our comfort zone. But we can’t stop there, we need to continue to push forward until we have reached the vision we have for our lives, without ever giving up.
4. Last but not least, we need to become masters of our habitual way of thinking and acting – If we allow our habits to dictate what we do, we need to make sure we have the right habits in place. We need to develop the skills to recognize habits that are not working for us and then we need to have the ability to replace that habit with one that will move us forward towards the vision we have for our lives.
Make sure to check out Lee Milteer’s Habit Busting System, this is a great resource that can help you make the habit change necessary to live a great life.
I hope this helps and…
