When you are inspired to start thinking about your success, sometimes you mind tends to go bonkers and you start to think about everything you want all at once. It is really kind of overwhelming!
So what do you do? If you try to focus on everything, you will soon find yourself frustrated and giving up on everything on your list.
The fact is you can only effectively focus on one task at a time. The word multitasking has been completely blown out of proportion.
We are also bombarded by the word “balance”, we must live our life in balance. I have found this to mean that we find ourselves thinking about our family while we are work and work while we are with our family. Again a disaster in the making.
My mentor, Jim Rohn, says “Where ever you are, BE THERE.”
Meaning leave work at work, leave your family at home. Not in a mean spirited way but in way that helps you focus on the main task at the time.
WOW… I got way off the point of this post, so let me see if I can bring this back into focus.
When you make your list of the things you want to be do or have, it is a wise thing to pick the one thing that if you were to accomplish that one goal would bring the rest of your goals into reality faster.
Now my question is….
“What one thing that if you were to accomplish it would help you bring about most of your other goals?”
My guess here would be that it would have something to do with a financial goal.
My guess is that it would be if you achieved financial independence that you would be able to easily reach your other goals. (If yours defers, I would certainly like to hear what yours is. So leave a comment.)
Here are a few questions that you need to answer about your financial situation:
How much yearly income would I need to live the lifestyle I would like to live?
How much money would I need to accumulate to be able to live off the yearly interest amount?
When would you want to have this money accumulated by?
Now another important point here about this…
Do not limit yourself based on what you think you can do!
Set these goals based on what you WANT/DESIRE. DESIRE is the starting point to all true success.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this subject so please leave a comment.
