And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

Inspired by my pastor’s message this weekend, I decided to tackle 1 Corinthians 13:1-13, which as far as I am concerned this is the definition of Unconditional LOVE.
Today, we are going to examine 1 Corinthians 13:2:
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
Think about this profound statement, even if you had the ability to see into the future or you had all the knowledge in the entire universe, there was nothing that you did not know.
Or if you had enough faith and power that you could move mountains.
If you used all of this great knowledge and power of faith without love, it would mean…
NOTHING!
It would have no meaning. You would have nothing.
I would have to surmise that if you used this wonderful knowledge and faithful power to move mountains and you mixed it with unconditional love you would have everything that you could need.
God is unconditional love and by extension Jesus is also unconditional love.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Think about the love that is involved in giving up your son or daughter to save others. This would have to be a profound love that is absolutely unconditional. The only thing that He requests of us is to accept His Son in our lives and to try and live by His example.
Again, I ask how would your life look if everything that you did and said was proceeded with love unconditional?
