The Steps to True Success…

For over 25 years, I have been studying success. I have read 100’s of personal development books that addressed the subjects of time management, personal productivity, goal setting, financial success and many other subjects that relate to personal success, with that being said 25 years later and applying these ideas you’d think that I would have had it all figured out.

But deep inside I knew that something was missing in all of my studies, something very profound, something very important.

So as I have known this quote to be true, “If you search, you will find.”, I kept looking for other sources of success material and observing the lives of those around me.

At one point in this search, I had been a sales manager and I had the great fortune of having three Christian salespeople working for me at once.

What I noticed was that these men seemed to be making more money then the other sales people on team. This was interesting to me.

I was also very fortunate growing up to having a wonderful Grandmother who was concerned about my spiritual well being when I was younger and she had planted some seeds in me very early in my life about the importance of knowing God and Jesus. From my early teens to early forties, I didn’t really give it much thought. On occasion I would pick up the Bible and read it for a period of time and what I found during that time was that things in my life were very smooth and my peace of mind was very calm.

In August last year, I made a conscious decision to turn my life back over to God. Quite frankly up to that point, I had done a pretty miserable job and I noticed that when He was part of my life, my life seemed to be… blessed!

Since then I have been attending my church on a regular basis, going to Bible Study during the week and reading the Bible on a daily basis.

Now back to the question in the title of this post…

What are the Steps to True Success?

Step 1: We do not have all the answers. Try as we might, we simply just do not have all the answers. We need help from God. Most of us go through our days thinking that we know all we need to know, but we find ourselves in financial distress or our relationships in constant strain or our careers are not where we had envisioned them when we were in our early 20’s.

From our births, we were born with flaws.

With all that being said, if we don’t have all the answers, then who does? The simple answer to that is God.

Step 2:  There is only one person who walked on this earth who was perfect and that was Jesus. He is the only person qualified to help us change our lives in a positive manner. He is the only person who can bring us to be with God.

God sent Jesus down to this earth and sacrificed His Son in order to wash away the sins of those who call on the name of Jesus. But you have to call on the name of Jesus to accept this gift from God.

Step 3: We need to repent of our sins. What does that mean? We need to change the way we look at things and we need to change the actions in our lives. We need to do this with God’s help.

How do we know what we are doing is wrong? The only source of right and wrong is written in the Bible. The only way for us to know what we are doing is right or wrong is to study and read the Bible. We need to fill our minds with the Bible everyday and then we need to apply what we learn in the Bible to our daily lives.

I hope you have found this post useful.

If you have been struggling with this, make sure that you get to a Bible believing and teaching church in your area and talk to the pastor.

As Always, Here’s to Your LifetoSuccess,

God Bless You,

John Clark
