Yeah, It sounds good, but…

I have been studying personal development for going on 25 years. When I first started to explore the subject, everything sounded good, but I would always find an excuse for not doing it.

When I speak with others concerning the subject of personal development, I am often faced with, “Yeah, But…” following the but comes every excuse under the sun why things won’t work.

This is a knee jerk reaction to anything that you think will make you feel uncomfortable.

Let’s face it…

We have been living our lives up to this moment:

1. Pretty much doing the same morning routine.

2. Hanging with the same people for years

3. Probably working in the same job

4. Watching the same TV shows

5. Visiting the same websites

6. Reading the same books and watching the same movies over and over again

And the list goes on and on.

This is how habits are formed. And when we are faced with “new” information, we run all our habits through our head and get very nervous about doing something that we know will help us in the future.

We could be offered a great multi level marketing or other business opportunity but we fear what our friends, family and co-workers will say when we talk to them about it.

So we don’t act!

We give up on our goal to eat healthier and loss those pounds because our co-workers always have comments about the healthy choices we are making. So we can fit in.

This is where we need to start creating “new” thinking habits so we can get past this the “old” anchors that are holding us back. And that is exactly what they are… anchors!

We need to cut the ropes to these anchors so we can start to move forward.
