When you think about your success, do your thoughts go inward towards what you have to do or do they go out to others and what you feel they should have to do in order to make you successful and happy?
When you look at your success and then you look at what you have to do in order to get there, you have taken personal responsibility for your success.
But if you look outside of yourself and blame others for you lack of success, you are giving up your personal power to people outside of you.
I have been following the story of ACORN in the US lately and I find it very interesting the language being used by those who are behind ACORN and their employees actions.
Here are some of the comments I have heard:
…racism
…witch hunt
…what about Blackwater?
…just holding the minorities back
…entrapment
Not one of the comments has taken responsibility for what has occurred by their representatives. And don’t make this mistake, those employees did represent the ACORN organization. They fell right into the scenario as easily as a McDonald’s employee does when they ask, “Do you want fries with that?”
This shows that these ACORN workers have had great training, fortunately they got caught on tape.
This is no different then the shows they have on NBC, to catch a predator. They have people caught in the act of doing what they naturally do.
But I have yet to hear anyone accept personal responsibility for their actions.
If you seek success, you must be willing to accept personal responsibility for all your actions… good or bad!
Without trying to pin the blame on anyone else.

So, when will Bush take responsibility for Abu Ghraib – among other things…
How could the fake pimp and hooker have possibly succeeded in their plans, doing it out in the open like that… as that was obvious, why couldn't the Acorn employees humour them and offer to draw them into contact with authorities who could then send them to the iron hotel. Getting information also helps make a case against them with law enforcement.
I don't see how anyone can believe that the Acorn employees decided that these were serious people who would be assisted by them and would succeed in their plans to run for Congress while running a whorehouse of child prostitutes, who I suppose would be ideal for Blackwater, an organisation accused of using the services of such prostitutes in Iraq… there is no way in a million years that they could believe they were assisting in a real crime… either they thought they were fake and played along, or thought that they'd help draw them in the open for arrest…
What's this need to draw the worst possible conclusions when it comes to Acorn? Assuming for a moment the fantastic idea that these Acorn people thought they'd help establish this child brothel, why doesn't the Bad Apple theory used to whitewash Bush crimes apply? Instead, this is to be treated as if Acorn ordered this from the top. This is hardly consistent.
By the way, Blackwater's Erik Prince is implicated in the murder of federal informants. Why is he not in the iron hotel?
Finally, O'Keefe and Giles also broke the law and belong in the hoosegow. If they say it was for the greater good, they should accept their place among the prison population in the great tradition of civil disobedience.
